Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 21, 2026
We wrote this to be straightforward, not to obscure what we do. If something here is unclear, email us and we'll explain it in plain language.
1. What We Collect — and What We Don't
The short version: we collect as little as possible. When you use ReelDownload, you don't need to create an account or share any personal information. We don't store the Instagram links you paste. We don't keep copies of downloaded files. Your download goes directly from Instagram's servers to your device — we're just the processing layer in the middle.
We're not in the business of selling user data or building profiles. We built this tool for ourselves first, and we use it the same way you do.
2. Server Logs — The Technical Basics
Like every website on the internet, our servers automatically log some basic technical details when you visit — things like your IP address, browser type, the page you loaded, and the timestamp. We use this only to keep the site running reliably and to spot technical problems when they come up. We don't tie server logs to personal profiles, and we don't use them for targeted advertising of any kind.
3. Cookies and Your Preferences
We use a small number of cookies to remember your preferences — things like your language setting — so the site feels consistent on repeat visits. We also use Google AdSense to display ads, which may use its own cookies to serve ads relevant to your interests based on your broader browsing history. You can turn off personalised ads at any time through Google Ad Settings, or disable cookies entirely in your browser settings. The site will still work without them — it just won't remember your language preference between visits.
4. Third-Party Advertising
To keep ReelDownload free for everyone, we show ads through third-party ad networks including Google AdSense. These ad providers may place their own cookies on your browser and collect basic information — such as your IP address and browsing patterns — to deliver relevant ads. We don't control what data our ad partners collect independently, so we'd recommend reviewing Google's Privacy Policy if you want the full picture. To opt out of personalised ads, use the Google Ad Settings page.
5. Links to Other Websites
This site links to other websites — Instagram itself, Google Ad Settings, and occasionally articles we reference. Once you leave ReelDownload, we have no control over how those sites handle your data. It's worth reading their privacy policies before sharing anything personal with them. We only link to reputable sites, but we can't vouch for them.
You're always in control of what's stored in your browser. You can clear cookies and cached data at any time through your browser's settings — usually under Privacy or Security in the main browser menu.
6. Your Rights — California Residents (CCPA)
If you're based in California, the CCPA gives you specific rights around your personal data. You can:
- Ask us what personal data we've collected about you (for most users, the answer is: very little).
- Request that we delete any data we do hold.
- Opt out of the sale of your personal data — though for the record, we don't sell it.
Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. These aren't just legal promises — we actually want to handle these requests properly.
7. Your Rights — EU & UK Users (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you're in the European Union or the UK, you have rights under the GDPR (and UK GDPR) to know what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or request that we limit how we use it. Contact us and we'll respond within 30 days. Specifically, you can:
- Access & Portability: Request a copy of any data we hold about you in a portable format.
- Correction & Deletion: Ask us to fix inaccurate data or erase data we no longer need.
- Restriction: Request that we limit how we process your data in specific circumstances.
- Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests where your rights override ours.
8. When This Policy Changes
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. We won't bury changes in a version history — if something important changes, it will be clearly reflected here. Continued use of ReelDownload after any update means you've read and accepted the revised policy.
9. Questions About This Policy
If anything here is unclear or you want to exercise any of your rights, email us at deviontech1@gmail.com. We're a small team and we take privacy questions seriously. You'll get a reply from an actual person, not a template response.
